5 Fandom Friday - Favorite Fictional Dads

There are a LOT of fantabulous fictional dads out there. I tried going with the first dads I could think of, and they all ended up being from TV. So here's a list of just a few of my favorite TV dads:



1: Phil Dunphy
    (Modern Family)

Last week I had Claire on my list for being able to reel in her crazy enthusiastic husband. Of course I have her husband on the list. He's one cool dad. He may be out there some times, but he cares and very obviously loves his family.





2: Marshall Eriksen
    (How I Met Your Mother)

As much as I loved HIMYM, Marshall is the one I didn't hate at one point in time or another. He's super nice and kind and has his own values and although we didn't see him be a dad too much on the show, I think he'd be a great dad.





3: Richard Castle
    (Castle)

OMG of course Castle is on my list. It's Nathan frickin' Fillion. But he's a great dad. He cares, he gets worried and he'd do absolutely anything for Alexis. And she knows she can count on him for anything. I love love love Alexis and Richard's relationship. It's adorable. ♥





4: Henry Spencer
    (Psych)

Henry was the type of dad who pushed his son. Maybe a bit too much. It caused some issues between them, but overall, he was just a father who was trying his best to get his son to reach his full potential. When Shawn found his calling as a psychic detective, Henry was always there to help him out, even if it was just to talk things through. He came out of retirement just to make sure Shawn was safe. And even though Shawn didn't always catch on, all Shawn needed to do was ask for Henry's help, and he'd get it.





5: Bobby Cobb
    (Cougartown)

I loved this show. And Bobby Cobb was hilarious. He may not have been a great... role model at times, but he was always there for his son and I loved their relationship. Plus he's hilarious. I saw the actor on Burn Notice recently (I'm finally watching that show) and it was pre-Cougartown and it just wasn't right. He'll always be Bobby Cobb. Did I mention Bobby's hilarious?




Oh man, now I'm just going to sit here and miss Cougartown. And Psych. And How I Met Your Mother.

5 Fandom Friday - Favorite Fictional Moms

5 Fandom Fridays again!! And... go figure, the week I jump back in to blogging is a week of 5 Fandom Friday that I'm not doing. I'm not so in to comic books, so... while I'll enjoy the movies and possibly the shows, I don't really have an opinion on what should be done.


Instead I'm hopping back to May 8th's topic, Favorite Fictional Moms!


1: Molly Weasley
    (Harry Potter)

I can't imagine doing a list of favorite moms without including Molly. She gives her all to her children's safety and well being. She tries her best and she's a badass. ♥



2: Helen Parr
    (The Incredibles)

I've got quite a few badasses on my list, actually. I guess that's what I think a mother should be. A badass who loves her children! Elastigirl is exactly that type of mother. She'll protect her children from any one and any thing, and she's a Super, so she'll kick ass doing it.



3: Linda Tran
    (Supernatural)

When I first saw Linda, I was hesitant on whether I'd like her, but Linda is a badass. She wanted to be with her son and keep him safe no matter what. And when keeping him safe meant fighting demons, she adapted to do so. She was battered and beaten, but she always fought for Kevin and always took care of him.



4: Claire Dunphy
    (Modern Family)

Not exactly considered a badass... at least not like the other moms on my list. Still though, I consider Claire one. She's a perfectionist and loud and nags all the time... and often times I get annoyed at watching her. But overall, she loves her children and would do anything for any of them. She spends most of her time reeling in her overly optimistic and enthusiastic husband from going overboard on one of his ideas, or else doing whatever her kids need her to do.



5: Cersei Lannister
    (Game of Thrones)

I speak of tv show Game of Thrones Cersei. I've yet to read the books, so I'm not sure if she's much different there. But on the show, she is a delightfully villainous character. But she loves her kids, and she would do anything for them. The only real issue I've been seeing lately with her is that she is a strong believer in "mother knows best", and her decisions reflect that. Still, she's a mother not to be reckoned with.

5 Fandom Friday - Favorite Funko Pop Figures

This is a fun topic! I just wish I had more Funkos in my collection to choose from! Actually, I had planned on writing a post on all my Funkos, but then I saw this 5 Fandom Friday, and decided to wait it out. Expect that post later this week probably.




Favorite Funko Pop Figures



1: Baymax

Immediately after watching the movie, I wanted something Baymax. So I went to the Disney store. They didn't have anything. So I went online and ordered a Funko. Hee. He's a bit larger than the other Funko Pop Figures, and he might be pearlescent? Super cute. He shipped super fast too!! I ordered him December 16th, and he was at my door by the 18th. It was most welcome, because this Baymax is adorable. ♥ ♥ ♥






2: Castiel

Castiel and Crowley are my favorite characters on Supernatural. I wanted this one for a while, but he was a Hot Topic exclusive and I despise the Hot Topic nearest me. It's sooo small, and there's always so many people and... I have a fear of crowds and small spaces. I tend to want to wander HT, go in 1/4 of the way, then freak out and leave. At cons, he sells for $40+ because he's exclusive. So I kept looking at him online. And in December I found someone on Ebay selling him for $20 shipped. Which was an acceptable amount for me to pay, so I nabbed him. I love Cas. He's adorable. I also need the Crowley Funko. Someday.






3: Dancing Groot

This one! HEEEE! At... Chicago Comic Con, I was looking for regular Groot, (that same month was when Loot Crate had their exclusive version. Oh how I wish I could have that one!) and I found one finally for $20, which made me happy, but then I saw this version and HAD TO HAVE IT. So cute!! I placed a pre-order, and got it a month sooner than I thought I would! And then, last month, I was at Walgreens and happened to find one there. So I grabbed it! Am I keeping both? Maybe. Or maybe I'll give the extra one away! Haha.






4: Dr. Hooves

I picked this guy up at the Doctor Who convention last year, Chicago TARDIS. Of course I picked him up. I'm new to the My Little Pony Fandom, so he's my first pony Funko. And he's adorable. I loves him. I picked two Funkos up at that convention, but the second one didn't make this list, so you'll meet that one soon. Haha. (Or you can catch a glimpse to the right of this picture... lol)






5: Stone Cold Steve Austin

When I was... a baby? Haha. VERY YOUNG. Until I turned 13 or so, I loved... wrestling. It was a family love. Everyone loved wrestling. WWF and WCW. Old school stuff man. My favorites included Shawn Michaels, Brett Hart, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Al Snow. Then in the mid to late 90's and early 2000's, Stone Cold Steve Austin showed up. And I was hooked on him. I loved this guy. (Can you tell I was never really "girly" as a kid? lol) I couldn't get enough. Mom bought me a subscription to RAW Magazine, because between that and WWF Magazine, RAW was the more "inappropriate" one, and therefore had more Steve Austin in it. I bought everything Steve Austin. You know those foam fingers you see at sports arenas? Steve Austin had a black middle finger. And damned right I had one. I had a Stone Cold license plate. And an Austin 3:16 flag that is still around. And like I mentioned in my song 5 fandom, I had posters of this guy on my wall, right next to my BSB and NSYNC posters. So I HAD to get the Funko. He reminds me of my childhood. And he'll always be a part of that.




Phew! I wrote way more than I thought I would. lol.

5 Fandom Friday - Favorite Fandom Accessories I Own

I can never have enough fandom accessories! Here's just five of my favorites!

1: Luna Lovegood Earrings
I made these based on the book description of Luna's earrings. The earrings in the movies are beaded and look nothing like my interpretation. Ah well. I still love these.

2: Tardis necklace
This is my newest fandom accessory. I think. I bought it last year at Chicago Comic Con. I've been wanting one for a while. The first time I encountered it, I asked to buy it, money in hand, but the lady hesitated because another chick was "thinking about it," even though I'd already asked about it. And the day before that, she had removed it entirely because someone asked to put it on hold. The chick who was thinking about it decided to buy it and I went home, necklace-less. That whole situation kinda urked me and still does. The lady who runs that particular booth comes back every year, and I refuse to buy from her. *shrug*

ANYHOOOOO, I picked this one up from the Doctor Who Store booth, for four dollars cheaper than the lady was charging. So I'll call it a win. It's lovely. :)

3: Hobbit Door necklace
I picked this up from geekchicjewelry.com, which isn't around anymore. It's a locket, I think, because the door opens, but I haven't put anything inside. It's so cute though!!

4: Blingtastic Pikachu hair clip things
I got these years ago, and they still make me happy. They're so bling-y that people just register it as some sort of shiny hair thing until closer inspection. Then, randomly, someone will just say "Is... is that pikachu?" Buah haha... yes. Yes it is.

5: Captain Jack Sparrow's ring
I was obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean. Which was funny, because I didn't even want to see the first movie. I was dragged to it. And I loved it. All of the movies. So, naturally, one year for Halloween I was a pirate, and I needed this ring to complete my costume. It is my favorite ring.



I have other accessories - a homemade pair of pokemon ball earrings, a Gryffindor scarf and a tie, my Jayne hat... I loves them all!
